Minecraft Server info

Note that the server is currently offline. If you are seeing this page now you are early.

Welcome to the abigail.church Minecraft Server! Please note that this server is not public, you need to be whitelisted to join!

Useful info

I will do my best to keep the server up to date, however since this is not a purely vanilla server, and clients will likely be using mods such as sodium, I will have to wait for mods and plugins to be updated for the latest versions (and paper itsself). Usually this takes around a week for the base set of mods / plugins.

If something is broken, or there is an update to share, I will probably post it on Bluesky.

IMPORTANT: Info for Bedrock Clients

By default, bedrock clients will have a full stop (.) prepended to their username to prevent conflicts. Bedrock players can link their account to their Java account, allowing them to play using their Java username and retain progress across paltforms. Please visit https://link.geysermc.org/ to link your accounts. NOTE: this is not required to play on this server. You only need to link accounts if you want to use the same player on both accounts. You only need to do this once, and the accounts will be linked for ALL servers using Geyser + Floodgate.

Allowed / recommended mods

This server is mostly vanilla, however most client side mods are allowed and some are recommended. However, since the server also supports bedrock clients, there will be no server side mod support. I recommend you browse and download mods from Modrinth, as the site is much nicer to use than Curseforge. I also recommend using Fabric instead of Forge since it supports certain performance mods listed later.

Info for nerds

This Minecraft server is actually multiple servers: a velocity proxy, and a main beckend server. Currently I am only hosting one server behind the proxy, which allows a status to be shown in the server list despite the main server being down (achieved by setting a separate MOTD and server icon in the velocity server, and forwarding the main server one to the client when it is online.). I also have a testing server that I made just to test using velocity to link multiple servers. In the future I could use this setup to make a main lobby server that links to other servers. This is not something that is likely to happen given the scale of this server, and I dont need to host anything other than a basic SMP, but the idea and ability to do so is cool.
